Who is the Australian Institute of Commercialisation?

The Australian Institute of Commercialisation (AIC) works nationally with entrepreneurs, businesses, research organisations and governments to convert ideas or intellectual property into successful business outcomes. AIC provides workshops, seminars and Business & Innovation Coaching, as well as other innovation, commercialisation and collaboration services that help organisations to grow and start-ups to get going.

Ilab - Brisbane

Owned by UQ, ilab supports and assists entrepreneurs and early stage, high-tech companies through the first few years of development providing seed funding, team development and mentor networks for founders; creating investor ready companies with increased chances of success.

ilab has incubated over 100 start-up companies and helped then raise over $70 million in grant and investment capital to fund their growth and generate nearly 400 technology job.

Slingshot - Newcastle

A regional model has been set up with the support of Angel Investors in Newcastle.

Slingshot is a high tech accelerator that provides seed funding, a dynamic co-working space, and a 12-week mentoring program that nurtures skills and relationships to enable entrepreneurs to build a remarkable company.

Central Coast Business Incubator – Ourimbah, NSW Central Coast

The Central Coast Business Incubator was opened in March 2001 with the major objective to provide assistance to small to medium sized businesses to expand into successful businesses and to help accelerate its growth, achieve its potential and attain long term viability.

The Incubator is suited to start-ups, new and existing businesses that are currently home-based and experiencing growth on the Central Coast. It provides a link for the home office based business to take its first steps into the commercial world, in a nurturing environment, without some of the risks associated with moving straight into a full commercial arrangement.
